On June 12, 2015, the Vermont Supreme Court reversed two trial court judgments on behalf of clients of Attorney Valente. In the first case, State v. Galanes, 2014 VT 351, the Court found that a probation condition was too vague, and overturned the trial court’s finding of a violation.
In the second, State v. Mottolese, 2014 Vt. 245, the Court overturned the forfeiture of bail in the amount of $35,000.00 where bail bond company represented by Valente had no opportunity to produce the defendant, who had been incarcerated in a different state.
